I Know Where The Summer Goes

I am not sure exactly what kind of coat this is but it has the whole trench coat, paddington, parka look that seems to be an upcoming trend for winter in the Northern Hemisphere. I think all these coats in army, camel and khaki shades are brilliant because they match with just about everything. This jacket looks great contrasted over over a floral frock teamed with a pretty brooch. It has 3/4 length sleeves, front pockets and big brown buttons.

I also have up for sale a floral button up romper that has a great cut out detail at the back. The floral print is very sweet and since it is a vintage piece you won't see everyone else wearing it. It is the perfect summer festival piece (think Ophelia Lovibond at Coachella, as pictured below) but you can still get away with wearing it in the wintertime with woollen stockings and a nice tailored coat or blazer.

Of course, there are plenty more items online including more playsuits, stripes, polka dot prints and smock dresses.

I am very excited to say that I am shifting to Melbourne in seven day's time. Consequently, this will be my last lot of items for sale for now. Crossing the ditch means I also won't be able to use sweet Alice as my clothing model anymore. I am not 100% sure whether i will continue my little online store or not because this depends on how job hunting turns out. As you can imagine, finding a job is a priority! Either way, I can't wait to get to Melbourne.

I Love My Disposable Camera

Daisy Fields, Switzerland.

Beach life, Ko Samui

The loveliest 'Frankie' style home, Switzerland

Carousel, Nice.

Vintage Shopping, Paris.

These are a few pictures from my recent travels. I used a whole bunch of trusty old disposable cameras for most of the trip and they turned out perfectly. However, i still couldn't help playing with these pictures on 'Poladroid'

Such fun!

Little Tan Shoes

Alexa Chung's collection for Madewell had the.best.tan.shoes.out.
The dreamy vintage style frocks, flowing skirts and cutesy schoolgirl style overall dresses were all teamed with tan leather bandage style heels, loafers, tasseled clogs and brogues.

I recently found these ones below, which look like like 70's bohemian shoes and have a similar look to many of the amazing platform clogs on the catwalks at the moment. They are made by Metros, who started making shoes in the 1940's. They are made from dark brown leather and have bandage style leather layers at the front. They have a buckle at the ankle making them nice and easy to walk in. These look super cute worn with heart print tights and slouchy socks. They instantly reminded me of the shoes worn by the models in the Alexa's Collection.

I have also been loving grandpa style loafer shoes and the teaming of them with frilly or pretty knitted ankle socks.

I recently purchased this pair from Topshop on Oxford street in London. They are called the 'Keda Shoe'. Then i found this vintage pair which i think are almost identical. These vintage ones are made from genuine leather with a bow shaped tie at the front and tan leather tassels. They are in perfect nick too!

The platforms and loafers are both for sale online right now. I also have some brown suede brogues and black lace up ankle boots available too.

Bow Tie Around My Neck

Although bows are becoming quite ubiquitous on fashion blogs and runways, i still love a dress with a great big pretty bow on the front or anything bow shaped, really.

This brown bow print dress is another one that i picked up from Vintage Desire in Rue Des Rosiers in Paris. It is also another dress that i did not try on! I was searching for the perfect brown vintage dress and thought i had found it. However, it does not fit me. It has a feminine sweetheart shaped neckline and a lovely full skirt. This is for sale online now, with more pictures.

I picked up a few more bow themed items in London that are also up for sale this week. A bow shaped silver ring and navy blue bow print stockings (a nice change from polka dot ones i think!) These aren't vintage finds, just cute bits and pieces i gathered along the way.

Enjoy

Back On Board

I've been lucky enough to have spent the last few months overseas, travelling around many lovely parts of the world. Now I am back home with slightly empty pockets and I'm ready to start selling vintage online again. Although i would be happy to keep nearly all of it, i have many pieces that i picked up during my travels that are for sale as of tonight!

The navy and white romper was picked up from Bordeaux in France and it's similar to many of the cute summer playsuits seen on all the cool kids at Coachella festival. However, for those of us living in the chilly southern hemisphere, it can still be layered in the winter time with stockings, a warm blazer and clogs.

The navy frock with white polka dots is made from cosy thick fabric. As seen in the new RUBY lookbook, everyone suits polka dots and they are always on trend. It is a great dress for wearing in the wintertime with stockings, boots and a vintage cape.

The blue and white rose print vintage dress was purchased from Vintage Desire in Rue Des Rosiers, Paris. I fell in love with this dress but never had the time to try it on. It is a little too big for me so my loss is someone else's gain. It has puffed sleeves, a square neckline and a gathered skirt. I love this dress because it can be dressed up with wedges or worn casually on a cold day with a cropped blazer, warm knee socks and brogues.

I will also be selling a a few contemporary items from my wardrobe, such as the blouse below.

I bought this navy and white from a tailor in Vietnam. It has a capelet style frilled top and the nautical sailor girl look to it. It also caught my attention because it reminded me of one of my favourite musicians, Zooey Deschanel.

Of course, i have a whole bunch more available. If you click on the link to my online auctions you can see what else there is!

Frocks, Frills & Grandpa Knits

I'm clearing out the wardrobe and letting go of these:

'Fifties Floral Party Frock' It's so fun to wear with its puffy skirt and cinched waist.

Black Full-Length Playsuit

Vintage shorts by 'Chic' with tan woven belt.

Plaid Frilly Sleeves 'Alexa vs Wilco' Blouse

60's Cut out indie buckle boots

Cutesy little Owl Ring (this little gem is too big for me)

I am currently addicted to Bon Iver (just like the rest of the world) and grandpa cardigans just like the one worn by the lovely lady below off this blog here.

I found the perfect grandpa cardigan before christmas at the op-shop. It had a cableknit pattern, was long and slouchy and it was the best grandpa colour out there, mustard. I tried it on and the colour made me look like i was suffering from a grave illness. Sometimes things don't look as lovely as on blogs, nevertheless it has been donated to a young 'grandma' girl and it looks plain lovely.

Dreaming Of Joni

I found this dreamy seventies style light knit mini dress in a thrift store and immediately thought of Joni Mitchell in the '70s. It has a ruffled hemline and ruffles at the sleeves too.The trimmings have a colourful embroidered floral pattern. The floral part gives it the perfect boho edge.
...
....
It's exactly the kind of dress that makes you want to wear a crown of daisies in your hair.
Update: I will have new auctions up in one week's time.
